New Delhi: The Punjab and Haryana excessive courtroom have granted aid to widespread Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi within the 2003 human trafficking case. On Thursday, the Excessive Courtroom stayed the sooner determination by which the singer was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment.
In line with information company ANI, “Punjab and Haryana Excessive Courtroom stays the choice of the Patiala Courtroom that had sentenced Daler Mehndi to 2 years of imprisonment in a 2003 human trafficking case.” The information company additional acknowledged that after the courtroom order was handed, the singer was taken into custody by Punjab Police.
Daler’s authorized staff had beforehand given their cause for taking the case to the Excessive Courtroom within the case, citing, “Sadly, the courtroom’s verdict will not be in our favour and his conviction has been upheld. We’ll instantly transfer the upper courtroom and file an attraction. We’re very longing for justice,” his lawyer LM Gulati had advised PTI on the time.
The musician, alongside together with his deceased brother (Shamsher Mehndi), had allegedly requested Rs 12 lakhs from a person underneath the guise of transporting him to Canada.
The singer has been a part of the Indian music trade for near twenty years now and has sung many widespread songs comparable to ‘Dangal’ and ‘Rang de Basanti’ amongst others.
